A Case of Osteogenesis Imperfecta Congenita Associated with Placenta Previa

Abstract
Osteogenesis imperfecta congenita is a rare disorder characterized-by marked fragility of the bones resulting in multiple fractures. It was first described by Watson-Jones, and in 1833 Lobstein designated it idiopathic osteopsathyrosis. But Vrolik named it osteogenesis imperfecta in 1846 Looser in 1906 was probably the first to distinguish between the congenital and late forms of osteogenesis imperfecta. Frerking and Zink classified the congenital bone disease into two types, hereditary and non-hereditary.
Many cases of osteogenesis imperfecta have been reported in Europe and America up to date, but to ,¢¥our knowledge this is the first case of osteogenesis imperfecta congenita associated with placenta previa that has ever been reported in Korea.
